A useful security camera system starts with the views you need, not simply the number of cameras in a box. For an Adelaide home or small business, start by identifying the entrances, access routes or stock areas that matter most to you.
Start with two priority views
Two cameras may suit a front entrance and driveway, or a shop entrance and stock area. They will not necessarily cover an entire property. Sketch the layout and note walls, fences, trees and parked vehicles that could block the view.
Consider both the subject and the distance: seeing movement across a driveway is different from seeing detail close to a doorway. Share photos of the proposed positions before choosing the equipment. Think about light at different times of day, including glare from the afternoon sun.
What is in the Dahua package?
Our Dahua 5MP two-camera PoE security kit is an A$443 equipment package containing:
- Two DH-IPC-HDW2541EMP-AS-ANZ cameras.
- One DHI-NVR4104HS-P-4KS2/L network video recorder.

The camera model provides 5MP imaging and infrared illumination rated up to 30 metres. This infrared rating is not a promise that faces or number plates will be identifiable at that distance. Position, lighting and the subject's movement affect the result. See the official Dahua camera datasheet for the model specifications.
For another option, compare the A$590 Dahua 6MP Smart Dual Light kit. It pairs two DH-IPC-HDW3667EM-S-IL-ANZ cameras with the same four-channel recorder. Read its product page for the dual-light behaviour, exact contents and camera-versus-recorder capabilities.
How does PoE work?
Power over Ethernet carries power and video data through a suitable network cable between each camera and a PoE connection. This is a wired setup, so planning the cable route matters even when the camera location looks straightforward.
Check whether existing cabling is suitable, where cables can enter the building and where the recorder will sit. A secure, ventilated recorder position with appropriate power and network access is worth planning before ordering.
Leave room for future cameras
The kit's four-channel recorder provides capacity for two additional compatible cameras. Expansion still needs a compatibility, bandwidth and PoE power-budget check. The official Dahua recorder information identifies the exact model; do not assume every camera or recorder with a similar name has identical capabilities.
Also discuss your recording needs. How many days of footage would you like to retain? Will you record continuously or around selected events? Storage requirements depend on those choices as well as resolution and recording settings. Confirm the complete equipment and setup scope in your quote.
