Door Fit Comes Before Drilling
A clean result depends on more than the width of the exterior panel. Before confirming an installation, we check:
- the door material and thickness;
- the available flat area around the existing handle;
- the lock body and door-edge preparation;
- the strike position and frame alignment;
- clearance from glass panels, pull handles and security screen doors.
The photo below shows another completed X9 installation. Existing holes and lock positions vary between doors, so the same model may require different preparation on another property.

What the X9 Package Includes
The current ADE Smart Home X9 package is A$699, including the lock and standard Adelaide installation after compatibility confirmation. It also includes the stated two-year local warranty. Covered lock faults are assessed and replaced under the warranty terms rather than repaired.
Extra parts, repairs to an existing door, extensive modification or non-standard metalwork are not hidden inside the standard package. If the door needs additional work, we explain the scope and quote it before the appointment is confirmed.
Is the Lockin X9 Right for Your Door?
The X9 is a strong starting point when the priority is straightforward fingerprint and PIN access at an accessible installed price. A larger model may be more suitable if you specifically want Face ID, a video doorbell or an indoor display. A narrower lock may be needed where the stile, glass clearance or screen-door gap is limited.
